Manish Halder is a man who wears many hats. A Children’s Theatre Director, Puppeteer, Stagecraft Consultant, Actor, Playwright and an Educationist. He started his creative journey with Katha, a NGO working towards the promotion of Indian literature and empowering weaker sections of the society. This is where he realized his love for stories and storytelling. To pursue his passion he went back to Theatre which in itself is an extension of the art form, but had to withdraw soon, because of the poor financial condition at home. But his passion found its voice and way through puppetry. After successfully running various projects in schools he decided to work full time with schools to dedicate more time to children and do more productive work with them. After working successfully with RSJModern School in Delhi, he decided to join an upcoming school, The Srijan School for more constructive and challenging ventures. But there was still an emptiness and urge in him to explore and experiment more. He found his answer in ‘Purak’, a creative and experimental art promotion organization, that he co founded with his wife Joyeeta Halder in 2006. After that there was no looking back. At present he works with various schools, media students and individuals across the country.
