12th Annual General meeting of Rural Marketing Association of India...

12th Annual General meeting of Rural Marketing Association of India was held on 21st July, 2017 at Hotel J.W. Marriot Mumbai.

There was huge attendance both from Brand and Agency side. Members specially flew in from Delhi and other parts of the country to attend this meeting.

Outgoing President Mr. Sanjay Kaul presented over all work done during the year, also the formation of National Advisory Board was announced to ensure the continuation of RMAI's vision. Balance Sheet was then tabled for approval after which election process started for Governing Team for the year 2017-18.

Office Bearers Elected:

Mr. Sanjay Kaul  as President and

Biswabaran Chakrabarti (Crompton Greaves) as Vice President
Himanshu Shah (SOI Live Marketing & Events) as General Secretary 
Sandip Bansal (Group M) as Jt. Secretary
Dr. Anup Kalra (Ayurvet)  as Treasurer

For the first time National Advisory Board of RMAI was formed.

Mr.  Raj Jha to Head National Advisory Board and was also declared as President in waiting. 
Advisory Board Members:
Sanjay Panigrahi - Pidilite Industries
Puneet Vidyarthy - JCB 
Pradeep Lokhande - Rural Relations
Punit Chadda - Maruti Suzuki
It was announced that another six member list to be announced soon by the Head in due course. 

Elected Executive Committee members were:

Danish Siddiquui (Hero Motor Corp) 
Rikki Kalra (Maruti Suzuki)
Mridula Shekhar (Tata Steel )
Siddarth Chaturvedi (Event Crafter)
Siddarth Choudhary (Desta Global)
Amit Rangra (JWT)
Kalpana Raina (Impact Communications)
Kiran Zende
Veerandra (Vritti Solutions)

Post election Mr Sanjay Kaul shared his thoughts for the year 2017-18. Key pointers of his speech were: 

  1. RMAI now needs a CEO and for that special budget was sanctioned.
  2. Major thrust to be given on Membership drive.
  3. Main IP’s to be taken to the next level and at the same time West region to be activated in a focused manner. For this General Secretary Mr. Himanshu Shah was given the task to drive RMAI Flame and Leadership Awards to be organised in Mumbai and RMAI students awards to be organised in Ahmedabad.
  4. Surplus Revenue generation was also emphasised upon. 
  5. To give more focus on research and knowledge sharing.
  6. To implement SAP (standard assessment procedures) prepared by E&Y for RMAI.

Post AGM which lasted for about one and a half hour, all members got together at the networking dinner. In order to activate West region, AGM was held in Mumbai.
