NRI Destination Wedding planned & Executed in Udaipur

A More Entertainment organised yet another NRI wedding, this time it was in a Royal elegance at the city of lake - Udaipur amidst its rich Mewar heritage. Chunda Palace, was the spectacular venue for the guests’ accommodation and for all the wedding rituals, for them to experience the authentic hospitality.

 

The couple based out of USA – Groom Udit Parikh and Bride Erica Gunthorpe decided to exchange their wedding vows and make their sacred promises to each other in India. Mr. Sumit Parasrampuriya, Founder of A More Entertainment was appointed to assist them with all the proceedings. Since the couple was NRI, task at hand was to get into detailing to ensure all their expectations are achieved to carve a dreamy extravagant celebration. An impressive logo was designed out of the couple’s initial and was printed across all the wedding collaterals.

The two days wedding affair, was attended by closed family and friends, some from oversees and a few from Baroda, India. They all arrived on 31st January to the venue to be welcomed by Dholwalas and entertained by the local art – Kachhi Ghodi dance performers. Welcome hampers were kept in all the guest rooms with itinerary card. Welcome lunch was served at Pratap chowk situated inside the venue.

 

The pre-wedding celebration, "mehndi" (henna) ceremony was organised at the upper terrace during high tea alongside was the DJ playing some theme songs. Colourful Bandhani dupattas were offered to all the women whilst a lakkh chudiwala made instant bangles as per the guests colour preference. Followed by Sangeet ceremony, where the beautiful couple walked straight hand in hand through the aisle while the guests were holding the hand pyros, making the entire ambience enchanting and performed a dreamy dance act. Post which the couple’s family performed on Bollywood songs interspersed with Rajasthani local dance acts. Luscious slush with delicious delicacy was served. The evening was not over yet, for those who are young at heart, an unplugged night was organised at the poolside bar.

On 1st February - the wedding day morning, family rituals performing Ganesh puja followed by Haldi ceremony was organised at the poolside. While the guests enjoyed their lunch, an authentic folk melodies played on Ravanhata by a local musician to entertain the guests.

An exclusive studio was arranged for all the women that offered services like hairdo, makeup and saree draping. While the gorgeous bride was getting ready for her D day, the baraatis were getting decked up for the Baraat by tying Safa that was arranged in the hotel lobby. The baraat procession started from the entrance of the hotel, Chunda Palace straight heading to the mandap venue entrance. The groom entered on a royal elephant embellished with imperial ornaments led by a brass band while the baaratis danced off the evening.

Vidhi mandap was adorned in front of the grandeur palace and had a stunning backdrop of City Palace and Lake Pichola that gave an authentic cultural touch to the special occasion. The bride entered under a beautiful phoolo ki chaddar along with her mother by her side and other family members. As the couple completed their last phera, the sky was filled with fireworks and so was the entire venue had a cold pyro blast. The guests were awestruck by the ambience and were embraced with the luxurious services offered by the hotel.

Next day, on the 2nd of February, after check-out the guests were offered food packets to have on the way to Baroda along with a local souvenir unique wedding gift - a pair of elephants packed in a lovely hand crafted wooden box with a box of Rajasthani delicacy – Ghewar and a thank you card.

 

Talking about the event, Mr. Sumit Parasrampuriya – Founder of A More Entertainment quoted –   “Udit & Erica’s wedding will be a special one, as it had our involvement from the initial stage. Right from suggesting locations that suits best for the guest profile to suggesting the thank you kit to all the guests.
